Know Your Rights Before Dealing With Insurance Companies

We do not represent insurance companies, only injured persons and their families.  When you employ us, we deal with insurance companies when you have been injured in an accident.  We offer free initial consultations to injured parties who have questions about the legal process, insurance coverage and their legal rights.

Insurance company adjusters often seek to settle claims before claimants fully realize the extent of their injuries or economic losses.  Usually, when an insurance adjuster extends a settlement offer to an accident victim, he/she will require the claimant to sign a document called a General Release.   It is important to remember that the signing of a General Release will forever bar the accident victim and their families from receiving further compensation from the person causing the injury and/or his insurance company.  Therefore, the KELLUM LAW FIRM urges accident victims and their families to consult with an attorney before signing any paperwork or accepting any checks from any insurance company or its agents. The job of the insurance adjuster is to represent his/her insurance company. The adjuster's job is not to represent you or your loved ones. Only your attorney has that duty under the law.
